Our Mission

The Toronto Gay Hockey Association (TGHA) is a non-contact ice hockey league for gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, queer, and heterosexual people over the age of eighteen. The league is a not-for-profit organization that is run entirely by volunteers.

Our mission is to:

1. Provide an environment free from all forms of harassment and discrimination.

2. Encourage fair play, openness, and friendship.

3. Provide a competitive and social atmospehere which promotes the growth of leadership, coaching, playing skills, and a sense of community.

History

Founded in 1994, the Toronto Gay Hockey Association (TGHA) began as a group of like minded people who got together to play hockey in a friendly environment that was free from the aggressive atmosphere of some main stream leagues. Over time, that group of like minded people grew into the eleven team organization we have today.
